Damien Hobgood's top-four finish in '06 was a fantastic top off to a year where he saw the birth of his first child. Damo romped home with an astounding victory in the Globe Pro in Fiji and as always pushed it to the limit on everything of all shapes and sizes. While consistency previously has been an issue with the soft-spoken Floridian it all looks like it is starting to come together and in 2007 he will be a genuine contender to the thrown mirroring the feat pulled off by his twin brother in 2001. With a solid mix of power and aerial trickery watch Damo in the beach breaks where with a bit of lip he boost bigger than the best of them but then again… gawk in awe at how he attacks big barrels with gusto.
